a long, long day.

last night my slumber was put off until the wee hours of four o'clock in the morning today. waking at ten was a struggle but i did it and made it to work at 10:45am for my first hosting shift. with a two hour break before working again at four, i used the time to lounge as hard as possible in my bed before dragging myself back to the bee's. the hardest part of the day though was definitely the surprise snow storm that we experienced (are still experiencing) in burlington. as if being tired weren't enough, no one can debate the fact that lousy, cloudy, gloomy, etc. weather adds to one's sleepiness factor tenfold- and come on, snow in the last week of april? not just flurries, folks- we are talking real snow. jay peak is opening again on thursday for the weekend! ridic.

during the lounging between shifts, i took the time to catch up on some npr podcasts i hadn't tuned into recently. the podcast from april 13th includes rafter roberts, broken social scene, some odd japanese pop group that i couldn't really get into, and a sweeet cover of the cranberries "dreams," performed by passion pit. you should totally check out the cover, especially if you were ever a cranberries (or closet cranberries) fan, even if the only songs you knew were zombie, linger, and dreams. you can check it out here and you can listen to the entire podcast at the npr website. keep all songs considered in mind because it is definitely a podcast worth subscribing to. anywho, time to get some sleep in tonight earlier than i was able to yesterday. still getting healthy after my saturday hospital visit. xoxo. maggie.
