packing, packing.

i'm spending my last day in burlington, vermont packing, getting distracted, not showering because our water is being weird, and listening to lots and lots of ben kweller. i've always been a fan but, until recently, hadn't been listening to him very often. lately, i've been listening more, and listening to songs i haven't yet heard and i'm falling more in love. his lyrics are amazing. they're real. they're authentic but simple and relatable. today the song i'm relating to is nothing happening but currently, the lyrics i'm loving are those to the song, thirteen. have a listen below and take note of the lyrics. they're fantastic. xoxo. maggie.

we've been in the rain,
we've been on the mountain
we've been 'round the fire
and fancy hotels.

drank water from farm wells
we sang with the choir
i kissed your dry lips
we jumped off the high cliffs
and splashed down below.

skin to skin in the salty river
made love in the shadows.
oh, read books to each other
read the mind of the other.

flew one thousand jets,
we laughed and we cried
at movies and real life
and our ridiculous bets.

we danced in the moonlight at midnight
we pressed against back doors and wood floors
and you never faked it.
and frequently, we ignored our love
but we could never mistake it, oh-

we met on the front porch
fell in love on the phone
without the physical wreck
you gave me the necklace
that used to hang around your mother's neck.

we questioned religions,
gave bread to the pigeons
we learned how to pray.
we stood by the ocean
turned our hearts into one.

we laid in bed all day, hey
we skipped on the sidewalk
skipped stones on the water
skipped town.

we've seen the sunrise with new eyes
we've seen the damage of gossip and true lies
we've seen the sun go down
had passionate make-outs
with passionate freak-outs.

we built this world of our own
it was in the back of the taxi
when you told me you loved me
and that i wasn't alone.

touristing?

lately, the photos i've been taking of sights that i've been seeing have not been of many so, i'm resolving to make amends to that (especially since i finally have a new laptop! first upgrade since march 2007 and loonnnng overdue). my latest adventure involved ma lil croissant/biscuit. kate and i journeyed to woodstock, vermont so i could show her some of the most precious gems surrounding my area of vermont (it was her first time visiting the central/southern part of the state).

however, the main event this weekend, rails2riches, is being held at killington- even closer to my home than pretty little woodstock. my friends and i have been going to this event since highschool and it has always been a good time supporting the participants that we know. this year, many more of my close friends are participating than usual so i'm even more excited to be there. everyone came down the night beforehand to avoid long morning drives so, to start the weekend off right, a bunch of us got together to enjoy some catching up at a friend's and some beers by a fire. photos of the weekends' events will be posted sunday- and even better, expect a freeeeky lil edit featuring ladies, ladies, ladies.. and bagels. xoxo. maggie.

self-worth

is important to have. new years is coming up and i've decided that my number one new years resolution is to work on liking myself. everyone has problems with accepting themselves for who and what they are and if you try to tell me you are an exception i will call you a liar. for a long time now, i've struggled with body image and any other insecurities that your typical human being suffers from but we only have one chance to live out our lives on this earth and not using my one chance for all its worth would be my biggest mistake. xoxo. maggie.

ps. i haven't been posting much lately because i've been at a loss for words so expect more music, video and photo posts more than written word pieces for a little while. <3

halloweekend.

halloween was full of great people but unfortunately lacking in great parties. thursday night, uvm jumpstarted our halloween excitement with the "dawn of the shred" railjam put on by sugarbush parks and the uvm ski and snowboard club. my housemates and myself had been planning a wild basement shindig the following night to kick-off the weekend festivities but, as luck would have it, it poured through the entirety of thursday night, into the morning and by afternoon our basement was home to at least an inch of disgusting water. perfect.

although the parties were not bountiful, the three nights of halloween celebrated in burlington, vermont were not a complete let-down. my best friend was up visiting as well as several of my other favourites. here are some photos of the different costumes that we partied with. xoxo. maggie.

ice cube & a lance leg.

ice cube again, this time with a sex pistols groupie.

come support b4bc and peepshow! wednesday, october 27th @ 9pm in the alumni auditorium on champlain college campus there will be a premiere for the long awaited "let's make better mistakes tomorrow" peepshow film. i wouldn't have heard of any of this if it weren't for my good friend molly mcglew. molly is a graphic design student at champlain college, creator of this hawt peepshow premiere poster and the founder of vixxxen: a fashion and snowboarding blog. it's the new hot shit and you better check it out if you haven't already. and while you're at it, watch this teaser for let's make better mistakes tomorrow. the film is going to be amazing for sure. xoxo. maggie.

and ps! $2 raffle tickets. board up for grabs. all proceeds go to b4bc.

in god we trust.

i just received this necklace in the mail that i ordered online via refinery29 boutiques. i can't say enough about this site. it allows you to browse some of your favourite high-end boutiques in the united states and purchase items all from one shopping cart. the orders are sent individually to each boutique and your items are shipped! this little treat, a "sweet nothings" pendant from in god we trust, is my new favourite necklace and i can assure you it won't be coming off for some time. in god we trust has more than just adorable customizable jewelry and accessories.. the rest of their jewelry collection is absolutely fantastic and if i had unlimited funds, all of it would be mine. xoxo. maggie.
