blahblahblah.

somebody, help. it is a monday morning. 2:04am, eastern standard time. what am i doing awake? nothing important, that's what. the weekend ended as soon as i got to work today and began my ten consecutive days of work. this is an exaggeration though since i actually have wednesday off and i'm not actually bothered by the workload because a) i am definitely in need of the green stuff, and b) i usually really enjoy work anyways. but all of that is besides the point. the reason i'm writing i guess is because i've been feeling scattered lately. or something. i don't know if scattered is the right word. maybe i'm just writing to get some thoughts out. or maybe it's just because at least i'll have somethign to show for my lack of sleep? who knows.

i keep coming back to the feeling that i have no options but when you look at the reality of current situations it seems like there are copious amounts of said options. none of this really makes sense unless you hear the coinciding thoughts that aren't to be posted on the internet. oh well.

steve mccurry takes really fantastic photos. here's a sampling. xoxo. maggie.

spring things.

all over the internet talk of spring fashions and new accessories and etc are popping off. what a tease. all i want is warm weather so when i go out on the weekends i don't have to layer to extreme levels and stillll freeze my butt off. but anywho, i was lurking the urban oufitters blog and stumbled upon this fascinating new accessory. a polaroid scarf! check these out- too bad they are mindbogglingly expensive.

objets trouves polaroid scarves by philippe roucou and m. cherie.

other things that are making me excited for spring and summer:

  • sleeping outside under the stars.
drinking at night on the beach.
walking and biking to see friends with no shoes on.
    taking naps in the grass.
    wearing sundresses.
sweating on a long run and loving every drop of it.
    summertime kisses.
going on road trips with the windows down.
    freckles across noses.
    long days and longer nights.
sleeping with the windows open and waking up to a warm breeze.
ice cold water on a scorching hot day.
    swimming. every. single. day.
    just everything.

benny & joon.

if you haven't seen this movie, you need to. i just watched it with rachelle and alicia and it is so amazing. i would rate it an 8 out of 10 as a movie, but when you add johnny depp and his perfect hair (and the preciousness of certain moments - like the one below - that give me goosebumps when i watch) the movie gets bumped up to a 9.25, easily.

mmmmmmm. night. xoxo.

gimme. he's perfect.

first weekend of february.

despite mcgregor's absense in burlington this weekend, i can happily say it was a good one. surprisingly, it started off on a thursday night which is rare for me- ever since leaving uvm that is. i had some quality girl time with emily before a few others came by and we listened to a beegee's record sped up. if i could put an mp3 of it up i would, but i have no idea how to record a record at 45speed so instead, i'll just provide you with the original song and hope that you can use your imagination (while you're at it, take a listen to the cover of how deep is your love by the bird & the bee, it's precious sounding).

the bee gee's - how deep is your love

after having some drinks to warm us up we trekked into the cold and found some fun at a house on school street which was a blast. friday however; after waking up, going to the gym and arriving at work, nausea and a fever set in- possibly from lack of sleep and etc. i was sent home a bit early and was under the weather until nine o'clock but that didn't stop me from seeing some friends from home that came to visit. chris, ian and sam came by around ten and we met up with champlain folk later on.

the night was really fun and then the lot of us, plus a few extras, ventured back to my apartment for a good night's sleep before sugarbushing in the afternoon.

saturday consisted of a groggy wake up, city market breakfast, being dropped off by my visitors at the mountain, making new friends, and cooking delicious pasta dinner with some of my favourite lovers. wesley, josh and ryan stopped in and slept on my couch that evening and we had some nice lowkey time because thursday and friday claimed all of my energy and no way was i going to freeze my ass off walking all the way across burlington to south winooski. but right meow it is a sunday night and it's time for a postwork shower, comfy clothes and lounging real hard. night kitties. xoxo. maggie.
